J.
Lawrence Paltrowitz,
was born in Elmira, New York in 1950. He was admitted
to the New York State Bar in 1975, the U.S Supreme
Court in 1978, and the U.S. Tax Court in 1981.
His preparatory education was at Cornell University
where he received his B.S. in 1971. Mr. Paltrowitz’s
legal education was at Albany Law School of Union
University where he received his J.D., cum laude,
in 1974. While in law school, Mr. Paltrowitz was
the Comments Editor for the Albany Law Review,
(1973- 1974), and was selected to be a member
of the Justinian Society.
Mr. Paltrowitz
joined the firm in 1975 and has been a principal
since 1980. Mr. Paltrowitz has been the managing
principal of the firm since 1986.
Mr. Paltrowitz
is also a Senior Law Examiner for the New
York State Board of Law Examiners (1987-).
He is a member of the Committee on Character
and Fitness, Fourth Judicial District (1989-)
and is currently its Chairperson. He is a member
of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American
Arbitration Association and a member of the
Warren County, New York State and American
Bar Associations.
Mr. Paltrowitz’s
primary practice areas are Labor Law, Education
Law, Municipal Law, Municipal Finance Law,
Not for- Profit Corporation Law, and Business Corporation Law. In
his practice with the law firm, Mr. Paltrowitz
provides legal services to numerous public
and private sector employers, not-for-profit
corporations, including Community Action Agencies
and Head Start Programs, and professional
practices. Mr. Paltrowitz also provides bond
counsel services for the Firm’s
clients in financial transactions as an approved
attorney by the Bond Buyer’s Municipal Market
Place (the “Red Book”) and provides legal
assistance in connection with all aspects
of capital projects.
