James R. Burkett,
was born in Massena, New York in 1966. He was
admitted to the New York State Bar in 1992. His
preparatory education was at the State University
of New York at Binghamton where he received his
B.A. in 1988. Mr. Burkett’s legal education was
at Albany Law School of Union University where
he received his J.D. magna cum laude in 1991.
While in law school, Mr. Burkett was a member
of the Albany Law Review (1989-1991).
Mr. Burkett joined
the firm in 1993 and has been a principal since
2004.
Mr. Burkett was
an Appellate Court Attorney, New York State Supreme
Court, Appellate Division, Third Department (1991-1993).
Mr. Burkett is
a member of the Warren County and New York State
Bar Associations. He is also a prior Director of The
Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York.
Mr. Burkett’s practice
areas are Trust and Estate Planning, Trust and
Estate Administration, Elder Law, Real Estate
Law and Appellate Litigation.
