Ms. Buettner’s practice areas are Municipal Law & Finance, Education Law, Labor Law, Real Property Law, Zoning & Land Use Planning, General Litigation and Appellate Practice.

Ms. Buettner was born in Troy, New York in 1977. She was admitted to the New York State Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District in 2003. Her preparatory education was at St. Bonaventure University where she received her B.A. magna cum laude in 1999, as well as being named the 1999 Ideal Bonaventure Woman.

Ms. Buettner’s legal education was at Albany Law School of Union University where she received her J.D. cum laude in 2002. While in law school, Ms. Buettner was a member of the National Trial Team, Moot Court Board and a coach of the Civil Rights Appellate Team. In 2002, Ms. Buettner was the recipient of the Donna Jo Morse Award for Best Coach. Ms. Buettner is a member of the Justinian Society and the Order of Barristers.

Ms. Buettner joined the firm in 2002 as an associate attorney, and was named principal in 2011. Ms. Buettner acts a municipal counsel to various villages, towns, cities and is Commission Counsel to the Lake George Park Commission.

Ms. Buettner is a member of the Warren County Bar Association (Past President). Young Lawyers Committee, Chair (2009-2015), Warren/Washington County Mock Trial Tournament, Chair (2009-2018), a founding member of the Adirondack Women’s Bar Association (Vice-President 2003-2004; President 2004-2005), the Saratoga County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (Executive Committee 2004-2005). Ms. Buettner also serves as a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee, Third Department, the Judicial Hearing Officer Appointing Committee, Third Department, the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York Board of Directors(1st Vice-President 2021-), and the Homemade Theater Board of Directors, and the Leadership Committee and Pastoral Council of Notre Dame Visitation Church in Schuylerville, New York.

Ms. Buettner has been a presenter for the Association of Towns, New York Conference of Mayors and Municipal Officials, Warren County Bar Foundation and the Adirondack Paralegal Association.

Ms. Buettner is the recipient of the 2011 Post Star’s “20 Under 40” award and the 2015 New York State Bar Association Law Youth and Citizenship Distinguished Attorney Award.
